City University of Hong Kong, or CityU for short, was founded in 1984, formerly known as the City Polytechnic of Hong Kong, and was upgraded to City University of Hong Kong in 1994. Technology | IP based real-time audio-visual communication applications, such as Skype and MSN, are very popular, but the quality of audio-visual transmission varies. The technology in the present patent attempts to solve this problem by detecting the silence time and conversation spurt time in the conversation, and then actively transmitting the video frame corresponding to the silence time or conversation spurt time. Specifically, the method comprises the following steps: first, detecting silence with a voice coding decoder; second, dividing the current video frame into multiple video clips according to the silence time; third, transmitting video clips in the silence time; fourth, receiving video and voice clips with a receiver; and finally, playing back the clips with a receiver. The audio-visual transmission management device includes a transmission module, a receiving module, a transmission voice stream analyzer, and a management module. The invention refers to a large number of adaptive audio-visual transmission strategies based on silence. |
