City University of Hong Kong, or CityU for short, was founded in 1984, formerly known as the City Polytechnic of Hong Kong, and was upgraded to City University of Hong Kong in 1994. Each year, CityU offers about 130 high-quality undergraduate and research degree courses of different levels and majors to about 20000 students. Technology | Usually, n-tiles format is used to integrate multi view 3D video signals into the existing video chain. However, the down sampling of the signal will reduce the resolution of the 3D image. The proposed technology, also known as "dynamic format", aims to bring the HD elements back to the n-tile format. For fixed or slow scenarios, the full resolution of the content will be preserved, while the action scenario will be displayed at a resolution level comparable to the n-tiles format. Multi view video image is encoded as a single video dynamic format sequence, which can be distributed, compressed and recorded as 2D video signal. |
