It is reported that the report conducted a statistical analysis based on all 5G declared patents and their extended family patents in the ETSI patent database as of December 31, 2022. Among the industry entities that ETSI has declared 5G standard essential patents, the top ten enterprises have more than 75% of the total effective global patent families, which basically reflects the main trend of global 5G standard essential patent activities.

From the perspective of the proportion of effective global patent families, Huawei's proportion of effective global patent families is 14.59%, ranking first; Qualcomm ranks second, accounting for 10.04%; Samsung ranks third with a proportion of 8.80%.
