The Beijing Winter Olympic Organizing Committee has submitted the image and name of the mascot as an Olympic symbol to the State Intellectual Property Office for announcement.
The announcement made it clear that, unless otherwise provided by laws and regulations, no unit or individual may use the image and name of the mascot without the permission of the Beijing Winter Olympic Organizing Committee. No unit or individual may distort or tamper with the image and name of the mascot, or use the image and name of the mascot as an integral part of other designs.
Those who use the mascot image and name according to law shall abide by the relevant technical standards and norms formulated by the Beijing Winter Olympic Organizing Committee. For the infringement of the intellectual property rights of mascots and the exclusive rights of Olympic symbols, BOCOG will investigate the legal liability of the infringer according to law.

Recently, Shuey Rhon Rhon and Bing dwen dwen are being popular in the Winter Olympic Games.
According to Bing dwen dwen Shuey Rhon Rhon, the Beijing Winter Olympic Games and the winter Paralympic Games Organizing Committee applied for registration of 45 International Classification of "ice pier" and "snow Rong Rong" trademarks in September 2019, and registered in December 2020. Bing dwen dwen, Shuey Rhon Rhon, has more than 170 trademark applications and more than 90 pieces of trademark. Except for the official application of the trademark, the rest of the trademark is invalid or rejected.
