In the morning of July 15, Beijing time, Facebook CEO Zuckerberg announced on Wednesday that he plans to pay at least $1 billion to creators by 2022, including creators who contribute content to Facebook and instagram.

Why? Because Facebook wants to attract influential people to make content for the platform and compete with other platforms, such as tiktok.
"We want to provide the best platform for countless creators to make a living, so we set up a number of new projects that will invest more than $1 billion in high-quality content creators on Facebook and instagram by 2022," Zuckerberg said
Between now and the end of the year, Facebook will launch a reward program that will give the creators a bonus if they reach a specific goal. For example, in the next few weeks, Facebook will launch the reels summer bonus project, which is aimed at American users and encourages them to provide high-quality reels content to instagram. Reels is a full screen long video feature, launched on instagram platform in 2020, competing with tiktok.
This summer, Facebook will set up a separate space in the instagram app, and in the fall, a separate space in the Facebook app, to let users know how the bonus works.
In the past few months, Facebook has tried to attract influential social media users to serve the platform through measures that use money as a bait. In June, for example, Facebook announced that it would not take a share of the online activity payments, fan subscription revenue and gift revenue earned by creators, as well as revenue earned through independent news products, until at least 2023. In April, Facebook made plans to help instagram creators make money.
