In the first half of 2020, 136434 technical contracts were registered nationwide, a year-on-year decrease of 7.3% and a turnover of 770.72 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 6.5%. The country's technology transactions continued to maintain a steady growth momentum. Among the four types of technical contracts, the turnover of technical service contracts was 368.41 billion yuan, ranking the first among the four types of contracts, with a year-on-year increase of 0.7%; the turnover of technology development contracts was 325.19 billion yuan, an increase of 22.9%; the turnover of technology transfer contracts decreased significantly, with a turnover of 59.77 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 22.6%; and the transaction value of technical consulting contracts increased from the previous year to 17.35 billion yuan.

According to the statistics of technology field, the top three transaction volume are electronic information, urban construction and social development and advanced manufacturing. Among them, the transaction volume of electronic information technology continued to maintain a leading position, with 220.89 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 2.5%; the rapid growth of urban construction and social development leaped to the second place, with the turnover of 131.28 billion yuan, an increase of 64.9%; the turnover of advanced manufacturing industry was 95.96 billion yuan, ranking the third. Among various technical fields, aerospace, biomedical and medical devices, new materials and their applications increased compared with the same period last year.

According to the statistics of technology trading entities, enterprise legal persons continue to maintain the dominant position of technology transactions, exporting 94243 technology contracts, with a turnover of 689.97 billion yuan, accounting for 89.5% of the total number of technology contracts in China. The turnover of export technology contracts of scientific research institutions increased to 38.99 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 30.0%, and 13298 items were exported. The output of institutions of higher learning decreased significantly, with 23508 items exported, and the turnover was 16.12 billion yuan, down 61.7% year on year.

According to the statistics of types of intellectual property rights, 56287 technical contracts involving intellectual property rights were signed, with a turnover of 361.2 billion yuan, accounting for 46.9% of the total number of technical contracts in China. Among them, 28686 technical secret contracts with a turnover of 168.6 billion yuan, 16836 computer software contracts with a turnover of 62.33 billion yuan, and 8155 patent technology contracts with a turnover of 105.4 billion yuan.

According to the statistics of plan categories, 19521 technology contracts for science and technology projects of governments at all levels were signed, with a turnover of 140.25 billion yuan, an increase of 15.4% over the same period of last year. Among them, there were 5015 national and departmental planned projects, with a turnover of 25.03 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 10.1%; 7181 provincial (district and city) planned projects, with a turnover of 59.82 billion yuan, an increase of 24.0% over the same period of last year.
