Customs Recordal

Customs protection of the IPR holder of intellectual property rights such as trademarks, patents, copyrights is as follows. In accordance with the Ordinance, the holder files a Customs recordal with the General Administration of Customs about the legal status of their intellectual property rights, the situation of the goods, the uses of such intellectual property and any known import and export of infringing goods, so that the Customs can take the initiative on intellectual property rights of supervision and protection in the regulatory process of import and export goods.

If the Customs find any goods suspected of infringing intellectual property rights, they will notify the IP owners for verification. Once the infringement is verified and confirmed, the Customs has the right to suspend their import and export, detain the goods for further investigation, as well as destroy all infringing goods.
